Slovak fuel. Slovak site. Slovak energy independence.

Newvys is working towards the deployment of LFR-AS-200 advanced lead-cooled fast modular reactors in Slovakia, with a focus on closing the nuclear fuel cycle. These reactors enable the multiple recycling of currently unused spent nuclear fuel, which is stored while awaiting final disposal in a deep geological repository. This approach allows valuable nuclear materials to be used more efficiently instead of being treated solely as waste. This approach can reduce Slovakia’s dependence on fresh uranium supplies and decrease the amount and long-term burden of radioactive waste requiring disposal in a deep geological repository.
